Table saw sleds

Most table saws have a part called a miter gauge. It allows the user to cut a small board on a 90 degree angle, a 45 degree angle, or any where in between. They are a great way to make cuts accurately and safely. However, if you want to cut larger boards (longer or wider) you start to lose accuracy and it becomes more dangerous due to a lack of board support during the cutting process. Two pictures of a typical mid range miter gauge (by Incra) are shown below.

A table saw sled allows you to cut longer and wider boards with increased accuracy and safety. I made two table saw sleds. One for 90 degree cross cuts, and one for 45 degree angle cuts. Both were used to cut cabinet sides, and door frames for a cherry china cabinet my wife wants .
