WAC124 AC2000

WAC124 Great product for those dead zones

The Netgear WAC124 can be setup as a router or a Wireless Access point. If you have areas in the house where the WiFi signal is weak you may benefit by installing a wireless access point. The device comes well package and with a UK power supply and 1M of ethernet cable. You get an installation leaflet which is adequate but you can download the manual from the Netgear site. All the default connection information is on the label on the bottom of the device which you should change asap. Setting the WAC124 as a router was simple enough and there is a setup wizard to help. You will need to create a Netgear account (it is free).I bought this to use as a Wireless access point and I have set it up as that. The device comes setup as a router since firmware v1.0.4.2, mine had v1.0.4.4 and there is a newer version of firmware which the router can download itself to update. The Nighthawk app does not work when the WAC124 is setup as a WAP, it just launches the web portal instead. Once setup I had very good coverage with the WiFi signal. All in all I am well satisfied with this product. The device is well ventilated and does not get hot. I would give 5 star for this comes setup as a router, when I bought this it did say device was a Wireless access point.
