Launch Creader CRE202 OBD2 diagnostic tool

Purchased the CRE202 from Amazon. First impression is that this is well made and can probably withstand a few drops. It has a robust cover. The unit works like an android phone. I used this out of the box on two cars and got a report for both cars. As both cars had no faults the device reported accordingly. I am still experimenting with the device for now and will input further reports later on.

Once I had tested the two vehicles the CRE202 emailed the reports to my mailbox. To achieve this, you have to setup the wi-fi to your network beforehand, setup is easy to do. The first thing to do is update all the software on the unit (easy to do). Once you plug the CRE202 to the OBD connector on your vehicle, it turns on automatically.

The unit works like an android phone. I used this out of the box on two cars and got report for both cars. As both cars had no faults the device reported accordingly. The unit has a screen capture utility which can be very useful. The screen shots can be emailed, you get them delivered as a zip file.

With the CRE202 you get a USB C type USB cable which can be used to download updates and modules once it is inside the house and connected to your wi-fi. It also can have additional memory card but not sure you need it as internally it has 12G of memory.

I am still experimenting with the device for now and will input further reports later on.

This is a quite powerful device and will help you a great deal but you need to learn how it work. The instructions and documentation could be a bit better. So far everything I have tried has worked and this will save a few trips to the local garage hopefully.
