Trash and Invasives Everywhere
Welcome to Upton Hill Regional Park (Aug 6, 2019)!
Trash In and Along the Park
NOVA Parks has failed to devote enough resources for maintenance. Trash is an eyesore in Upton Hill Park. It greets you when you enter the park. Its along every trail. It's in the forest. And, it has been this way for years. Once the climbing structure is installed in the upper park and the new pavilion is built in the lower park there will be more activities, more people -- and more trash.
NOVA Parks should use these funds to have invasives -- which are also everywhere -- professionally removed from the park and hire more personnel to properly maintain the park.
After collecting yet another bag of trash while walking along the park, we asked the County to install signs. Thankfully it did, but trash is still pervasive around the border of the park.
