Tree Protection of Sorts

During construction, the contractor was remiss in installing the tree protection areas. It took several months and the intervention of the County to get the contractor to put up fences around the mature White Oak in the lower park.

Construction equipment and material was parked and piled under trees that were supposed to preserved, putting them at risk.

Limbs were also damaged.

Urban Forestry Commission requested NOVA Parks select a contractor familiar with Arlington's tree preservation regulations.
