At the end of N. Longfellow Street, storm-water runoff from the street runs straight through a short pipe, spilling directly down the hillside. An eroded gully has developed over the years due to the increasing volume and speed of the runoff. The water flows to the NE to the sensitive wetlands in the NE part of the park indicated in purple from the 2007 Arlington County Natural Resource Inventory of Upton Hill Regional Park.
