What can I say? The suit is fabulous. The hat is fabulous. The jewelry is fabulous. The shoes, sadly, are not fabulous.
The suit is a wonderful copy, as are the hat and other accessories. It's 7 slices of heaven: jacket, skirt, necklace, earrings, hat, shoes, belt. The jewelry starts with a four strand pearl choker, fastening in the back. The earrings are lovely pearl drops from a "diamond" post. Despite how much I love (almost) everything FM gave me here, I still have four major criticisms:
1) The shoes are inaccurate. They need a narrow white stripe across the toes. Other collectors have suggested this can be remedied with a thin strip of white adhesive typing correction tape. (Don't use white out fluid!) Better yet, buy a custom pair from S 'n' E Shoes
2) The belt has a cheesy, flimsy plastic buckle which I fear will someday tear.
3) There is no purse. Diana carried a stylish navy purse with a long strap. Penny made me one.
4) Diana wore a small gold brooch (the regimental pin of the Guards she was visiting as Colonel-in-chief,) on the left lapel of the suit. This item was not only left off the outfit, but was airbrushed out of FM's Diana wardrobe promotional materials. Naughty. Maybe a tiny gold fleur-de-lys earring, a button or some golden embroidery thread could stand in for this?
The outfit was also one of the handful available dressed on a doll. Although not a limited edition, there were relatively few of them. It doesn't make them particularly special, despite what some eBay sellers may claim. There was nothing extra special about buying one of the subscription outfits already dressed on a doll with the exception of the Travolta gown...which came with different jewelry. This suit, and the other first 6 of the subscription outfits, were only different in that they came on a doll and didn't require surgery to remove from their box.
