As a finisher to the ski outfit, FM gives us another pair of boots, skis, a pair of sunglasses, a camera, and ski poles.
Big, fat, whoopie freaking do. I found it difficult to work up much enthusiasm for this set because it felt like a wasted blue box that needed clothing. This isn't an outfit. I'm a miniature clothing addict, not a sporting goods collector. I wouldn't have minded a tennis ensemble for Diana, complete with racquet or a swimming costume with a wrap skirt, tote bag and beach towel, and I felt FM wasted an outfit. Diana enjoyed many sports activities and they wouldn't all have required an completed extra boxed set of equipment.
We already had sunglasses from the Angola outfit. We already had the boots from the ski outfit (although to be fair, these are kind of nifty and clip nicely into the skis.) The camera is a little cheesy looking, but it is of the contemporary pre-smartphone era. The ski poles are nicely done, as are the skis with their jazzy racing stripes coordinated to the ski suit.
Now that it's nearly two decades since it arrived at my house, I've become more fond of it, however I still think I would have liked a ski hat, a scarf, some puffy warm ski pants. For $45/55 (depending on when one subscribed to the collection,) a couple more goodies would have been in order. I kept it, but only because I'm a sucker for Diana and want her to have it all.
