FIU Coronavirus Advisory – Visit our Panthers Protecting Panthers website for updates
MyFIU is the student portal for FIU. Nearly everything you need from making advisor appointments to requesting transcripts can be completed on MyFIU. On this page, we will go over how to log into your MyFIU Account for the first time.
Before we start, you will need the following information:
Your Panther ID Number - Found on your Letter of Acceptance (Example - 6267385)
Your birthday
A personal email address OR a US phone number that works to receive texts
Go to https://my.fiu.edu/. On the top right-hand sign of the page, click the button that says “Login to MyFIU”
Your username is the first part of your FIU email address before the "@fiu.edu". If you don't yet know your FIU email address, you can lookup your username by clicking here.
Default passwords will be your birthdate listed in the following format: ddMonYYYY. (For example: April 20, 1998 would be typed as 20Apr1998)
The system will ask you to enter a mobile number (must be working US Phone Number) OR a personal email address (anything besides your FIU email)
This information will be used to help reset your account if you are ever locked out or forget your password in the future
Once you’ve entered your recovery information, the system will send you a six-digit numeric code. Enter that code and click "Submit".
Click "Continue" to proceed.
You’ll need to go back to the MyFIU login page and re-enter your username AND the default password (ddMonYYYY).
It will ask you one more time to enter your recovery email or phone number. Make sure this information is the same as what you entered before!
Now you will be prompted to create a new password. Once you enter your new password, you can log in to MyFIU.
If you've followed all of the steps above, most likely what you are experiencing is something that only FIU IT can fix. Please go to https://fiu.service-now.com/sp?id=sc_somethingbroken. On this page, you will need to scroll down and view the tab that says "Chat". In this tab, you can fill out information about the issue you are having. When you hit "Submit" you'll be immediately connected to an IT person from 8 AM to 8 PM EST, Monday through Friday that can help assist you.
