FIU Global First Year offers students free transportation from Miami International Airport (MIA) to campus. Please provide your arrival details at least 15 days in advance to the program start date.

Students are encouraged to arrive during the week of check-in (August 16-20). You can arrive in the country earlier than August 16, HOWEVER you will be unable to move into your dorm room or do the Global First Year check-in until the week of August 16.

All students arriving to campus in August will be REQUIRED to schedule a check-in with the Global First Year Team. To promote physical distancing, only four students will be allowed to check in per hour. This check-in period will take place from August 16 through August 20. Advanced sign up is mandatory.

IMPORTANT - All students living on campus and moving in for fall will be required to provide proof of a negative COVID test that was taken within 7 days prior to arrival to campus. The test needs to be a RT-PCR test (This is not an antigen or rapid test).

Students who fail to provide a negative test result will not be permitted to move into their rooms until they are cleared by the FIU COVID Response Team.
