Obituary

MR MOSELEY, CRAFER's INN.—We regret to learn that Mr Moseley, the landlord of Crafer's Inn, in the Tiers, a very highly respected colonist, was drowned in the Onkaparinga on Saturday night. He had accompanied Mr Bertram on business to a station beyond Macclesfield the same morning, and the ford at that time was easily passable. On their return, near midnight, the river was much swollen, and Mr Bertram was anxious to go round by the bridge at German Town; but finding Mr Moseley determined to cross, insisted on going before him. The water was not very deep till the middle of the stream, where his horse sud-denly sunk, and he was thrown from his saddle. At this moment he observed Mr Moseley following him. Mr Bertram with some difficulty reached the opposite bank; not so his unfortunate companion, whom he saw no more. At the time our information reached us, the search for the body had been unsuccessful.
