Homework is set for many reason including
Practise, reinforce and extend work that is taught in class
To enable teachers to find out whether or not students have understood the lesson
To help students develop skills of independent time management
To show what students are able to produce under unaided conditions
To encourage students to understand that school work does not finish when the school day ends and that responsibility for working continues beyond the classroom
To develop a strong work ethic.
