Report.txt

The report.txt file output by the program and saved alongside saves is a valuable resource: use it with a spreadsheeting tool to maximize the utility of the simulation, especially if you're leaving it running for long periods of time.

Below is an example line from this report and an analysis of the information and tricks included to assist in processing.

Epoch: 2 Day: 46 #Agents: 481 Growth*: 0.605440 Mutation*: 1 #Herbi: 99 #Frugi: 381 #Carni: 1 #Terra: 0 #Amphib: 0 #Aqua: 481 #Hybrids: 0 #Spikes: 26 #Plant: 31742 #Meat: 78 #Hazard: 5984 #Fruit: 13941 RGenome: 7139 RSeed: 9 RGen: 9 RRadius: 15.043615 RMetab: 0.339678 RTempP: 0.521260 RChildren: 0 TopHGen: 8 TopFGen: 13 TopCGen: 5 TopLGen: 0 TopAGen: 0 TopWGen: 13 #Mutations: 66 #Deaths: 18 DEATHLOG: Killed by Temp Discomfort: 4 Killed by Excessive Generosity: 3 Killed by Child Birth: 2 Killed by a Hazard: 4 Killed by Suffocation .: 4 Killed by a Murder: 1

The format is this: [LABEL][tab][VALUE][tab], where [tab] is a tab character. Using spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel should take this output and insert it into new cells with correct alignment, and all you have to do is create a chart.

NOTE: the DEATHLOG portion is CHAOTIC (ie, "Killed by Temp Discomfort" may be the first entry here, but it might be the 5th in the next line, or it might be completely missing in another line)! I recommend creating a series of columns that first organize the data based on the last 2 words of the LABEL.
