Earth School - An Immersive 30 Day Nature AdventureDive into videos, quizzes, and activities that will help students celebrate, connect with and explore the natural world.

Welcome to Earth School! We’re embarking on a month of daily adventures – or Quests – that will help you understand and celebrate our natural world, while learning about how dependent we are on our planet. Now more than ever, we need to protect, nurture and care for Earth – so join us to learn something amazing every weekday between Earth Day (April 22nd) and World Environment Day (June 5th).

Within each lesson, you’ll find fascinating resources compiled by Earth experts and ideas for getting involved in ways that count. Join us to learn more, create, act and share your journey (#EarthSchool) towards a cleaner and greener life.

Each of the quests are links to the Earth School site with videos and questions for further exploration. Choose a quest, click on it and get started. Can you do all 30?

Quest 1 – The food we eat Our food comes from the store, right? Not exactly. In this adventure we'll explore the origins of what we eat, and learn about the impact our diets have on the environment. We’ll also see the surprising role bugs play in our food systems. (They pollinate 1/3 of our food and educator Emma Bryce shows us they are actually pretty tasty and high in protein!) After the video, continue on to other sections to learn more, interact, act, and share.

Quest 2 – The clothes we wear We are connected to nature in everything we do, right down to the shirts on our backs! Each year, we sell and buy two billion t-shirts globally, making it one of the most common garments in the world. But how and where is the average t-shirt made, and what’s its environmental impact? Angel Chang traces the life cycle of a t-shirt. After the video, continue onto other sections to learn more, interact, act and share.

Quest 3 – The technology we use Did you know that your cell phone and computer contain tons of rocks and minerals? Today, we’re going to dive into how electronic devices are made, what natural resources they use, and learn how to enjoy everything that technology has to offer without doing irreparable harm to the planet. Quest 4 – The homes we live in In this Quest, we’ll explore all the ways our homes are connected to nature. Our houses, apartments, and rooms actually host a whole microscopic world of strange creatures. We’ll also learn about the many environmentally-friendly ways to build and live in our homes. Quest 5 – The energy we need Energy is neither created nor destroyed... so where does it come from? And where does it go? In this Quest we’ll discover what powers our world. We’ll look at how energy gets to our homes and understand why renewable energy solutions are so important. In our first video, educator Joshua M.
