The Czech Republic

ERASMUS+ Mobility to the Czech Republic

25th March to 1st April 2023

Ten students and three teachers from Agrupamento de Escolas de Vale de Ovil in Portugal have recently traveled to Mnichovo Hradiště, Czech Republic for a school exchange program. The visit took place between March 25th and April 1st, as part of the Erasmus+ program, and aimed to promote sustainable production and cultural exchange between the two countries.

This exchange program follows a visit from ten Czech students and two teachers from Gymnázium Mnichovo Hradiště to Portugal in November 2022. The project, titled "Sustainable Production of Porto Wine and Czech Beer," focused on sustainable wine production and now shifted its attention to sustainable beer production in the Czech Republic.

During their visit, the Portuguese students were hosted by Czech families, allowing them to experience different lifestyles, traditions, and local cuisine. They attended classes at the Gymnázium and learned about the Czech education system. The exchange program also included seminars, group discussions, study visits, and conferences, providing a comprehensive and diverse learning experience for both students and teachers.

Aside from the educational program, the Portuguese students also visited cultural and historical sites, explored the surrounding nature, and tried out winter sports. The exchange program deepened the European citizenship and enhanced linguistic, social, and behavioral competencies of the students.

The project will continue with the visit of Czech students to Portugal during the summer. The emphasis of the project is always on promoting sustainable production and cultural exchange while respecting the environment, culture, and history of both countries. The experience gained from this exchange program will undoubtedly stay with the students of both countries forever.
