Entire House Over $600,001

This 1970s rambler lacked curb appeal, but the cedar siding was in good shape and the roof had recently been replaced. The massive fireplace in the center of the main living area was not only an eyesore. it took up valuable space, leaving little room for the kitchen. To modernize the exterior, Sockeye Construction Company added 1-by-3 batts to the existing cedar siding and painted everything white.

They selected stone that complimented the recently replaced roofing. Then they installed new black vinyl windows, a modern garage door and an updated front door. Inside, they removed a huge faux stone fireplace, creating space for multiple interior upgrades, and installed a new gas fireplace on an exterior wall.

They removed the load bearing wall separating the kitchen from the living room and installed a beam which nearly doubled the space available for the kitchen. The new kitchen space has views of and access to the tranquil backyard while being open to the rest of the living area.

The Sockeye team also took advantage of the extra space gained by removing the massive old fireplace to renovate the cramped and outdated primary bathroom.  The new space allows for a much more beautiful, functional and spacious primary bathroom. The team was then able to update the guest bathroom to provide a more inviting space for company.

Finally, Sockeye updated and relocated all the HVAC, plumbing and electrical which freed up space for a true laundry/mudroom with direct access to both the backyard and the garage.

What was once a home lost in the 70s has been modernized for today. Now that’s groovy.
