Land

All natural resources depend on the land. This part of the natural resource inventory is divided into five parts. The first two parts are the topography and steep slopes of Eaton. They show the shape of its landscape, the hills and valleys that make up the town, and areas where hillsides are particularly steep.

The next two parts discus the geology of Eaton, both the surficial geology and the bedrock underneath it. Following that is a part that describes the different types of soils and where they are found in Eaton. The soil type and the steepness of many of the hillsides has a big impact on the character of the town, the type of habitats it supports, and its suitability for development.
