Eaton's Little White Church
Eaton is nestled in the foothills of the White Mountains in the northeast corner of the lakes region. There are two main roads in Eaton. State Route 153 connects the village of Eaton Center to the towns of Conway in the north and Freedom in the south. The Brownfield road is a county road going from Eaton Center east through the village of Snowville to Brownfield, Maine. A seasonal town road connects Eaton to Madison, its neighbor to the west.
The approximate area of the town is 25.6 square miles, including 1.2 square miles of water. In the 2020 census Eaton had a population of 405. It is rural in character with two small villages and one small commercial/industrial district. The rest of the land is in a residential district served primarily by gravel roads. Current land use consists primarily of forestry, recreation, and a small amount of farming.
