I'm a Parent!

Hi Parent, I'm a page for you!

(that was my awful dad joke...moving swiftly on...). This space is to support all of us who are estranged, refugee or care experienced students AND parents at the same time. It's pretty tough for us but we're not alone and there is support out there. We've pulled together some resources we know about that you might find helpful. If you think of anything we've missed, let us know!

Rees Foundation

Have a peer-support group for care experienced parents of all ages called the 'Parent's Circle'. Contact them at ContactUs@ReesFoundation.org for more information or via their sign-up form at https://www.reesfoundation.org/lets-connect.html

The Parenting Hub

The group was created as a place where care experienced parents could gather in safety and without judgement where young people could explore and express their identity and approaches to parenting.  The intent from the outset was for the group to be run in partnership with the parents involved, building confidence in the parents and empowering them to grow and develop the project in the way that best meets their needs and aspirations.

Home-Start

Help families with young children deal with the challenges they face. They support parents as they learn to cope, improve their confidence and build better lives for their children from birth to starting school. Families struggling with post-natal depression, isolation, physical health problems, bereavement and many other issues receive the support of a volunteer who will spend around two hours a week in a family’s home supporting them in the ways they need.
