Within my original Lesson plan for PDHPE I have used the The TIP model used in the (Roblyer & Doering,2014) reading which is a guide for teachers to connect digital technologies into their lesson plans to improve their teaching and help students learning and engagement (Roblyer & Doering,2014). The main thing I applied from the TIP model was to self-reflect on the goals of the lesson and what the outcomes and standards that the lesson and specific content are trying to achieve. Another major focus was thinking of how technology can enhance student engagement, motivation and improved learning outcomes through increased use of digital Technlogies compared to traditional types of learning (Tondeur, et al 2017).
The TIP model also made me critically think about what digital tools could be most compatible and accessible to students to allow for increased accessibility of tools and student autonomy (Tondeur, et al 2017) while assessing how these digital tools can improve my teaching practice within the physical education curriculum.
There are a range of Ethical and legal issues for teachers that plan out lessons for students in schools, a major one especially when using digital technologies would be Informed Consent. Teachers need to ensure Students and parents understand what is happening when these apps or devices are used within the lesson planning. Teachers and schools are required to keep information secure and used only for educational purposes and avoid sharing sensitive student information without proper consent from parents and the school. The teachers should also use a school account to avoid personal details of children to be leaked online.
