Using my Lesson plan that was modified utilizing the TIP model that incorporate Digital Technologies into my teaching lessons, but we will also include some Formative and summative assessments tasks into the plan. (Wilson, et al 2016) reinforces the importance of formative and summative assessment tasks using digital technologies being able to assess students’ knowledge at different stages of their learning, and the use of ICT can make the assessment interactive, engaging and more beneficial for students compared to traditional assessment tasks. (Wilson, et al 2016).
The formative assessment that I would include within my lesson plan would be a Kahoot! online quiz, these formative assessments allow for students to test their knowledge and receive immediate feedback which enhances student centered learning and builds self-regulation skills for students (Nadeem& Al Falig,2020). Kahoot quizzes are easy to create and easy for students to access through a range of technologies allowing teachers to see what areas students need to develop and what areas of the content students understand well.
The summative assessment that I would incorporate would be an E portfolio where students would make a portfolio of information on one of the health issues associated with smoking learnt throughout the lesson. Student can utilize digital Technlogies within google sites and incorporate unique forms of multimedia in conjunction with the notes on the content learnt around the health issues associated with smoking. I feel an e portfolio is a great summative assessment because it doesn't have to pressure or study load where a student has to write a big report or complete and exam at the end of a lesson or unit for a summative assessment which has been seen to be very effective (Timmis,et al. 2016) .
To avoid any ethical issues with assessments teachers and schools need to ensure that the assessments are assessing what is needed to be learnt within the curriculum learning objectives, teachers need to make sure students understand what is being assessed and the details as this will give all students a fair chance to prepare effectively for assessment tasks. Other legal and ethical requirements schools and teachers should consider would be to provide appropriate assessments for students with diverse learning needs allowing students with disabilities or special requirements to have equal opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.The teachers should also use a school account to avoid personal details of children to be leaked online.
