"Oh no, these rascals are on the loose and causing mayhem wherever they go! You can bring them home and set them on a better path, but first, you need to hunt them down and catch them, and it's not easy! They are quite slippery and full of tricks to escape with. Use all the tools at your disposal to save everyone from this fledgling menace!
This is a discord-based game heavily inspired by a similar concept in DaturaMustang ARPG where you compete with other players for the chance to enter a "Draw-to-Adopt" raffle and score yourself a free predesigned and imported dracovix with rare traits and markings!
When you have a "claim" on a fledgling, you have claimed that fledgling as your "quarry" and you now have an active "hunt."
No other player can try to capture your quarry during your hunt.
You can have only one quarry at a time and cannot hunt multiple fledglings or claim another fledgling as your quarry during your hunt.
A hunt lasts 1 week before expiring on the exact hour and minute 7 days since the hunt was started, after which your hunt ends and other players may try to claim that fledgling as their quarry.
If you voluntarily relinquish your quarry, you must wait 6 hours before you can claim a different fledgling as your quarry.
If your capture is unsuccessful or you relinquish your quarry, you must wait 24 hours before you can claim the same fledgling as your quarry again in order to give other hunters a fair chance.
A fledgling is available to be claimed as your quarry when...
exactly 7 days down to the minute have passed since the previous hunt began, and no capture was attempted,
the previous quarry was rolled and the capture failed, or
the previous hunter relinquishes their quarry.
In the first 10 minutes of a fledgling becoming available to be claimed, all quarry claims will be entered into a mini raffle to see who gets the hunt. After the 10 minutes is up, an admin will reply to whomever won the quarry! If you didn't get the quarry, this doesn't count as relinquishing or failing to capture your quarry, and you may try to make a claim on a different fledgling right away.
If the 10 minutes period passes and nobody has made a claim, then it's first come first served to whoever claims next.
For every fledgling you successfully capture and obtain from the Fledgling Hunting Game, you must wait 1 week before you may hunt again. So if you have one dracovix won from the hunting game, you must wait 1 week before your next hunt. If you have three dracovix won from the hunting game, you must wait 3 weeks before you can claim and hunt a fledgling. This caps out at a maximum of 4 weeks of cool down at 4+ fledglings gained from the hunting game. This cool down is to give other players a chance who haven't gotten to play yet! Dracovix you obtained through other means don't count for this cool down!
This game is fast paced and competitive, so be very mindful if you are easily stressed or embittered by the competitive aspect. Show good sportsmanship to fellow players who win a fledgling, it's all in good fun! :) Step back if you need to. Another fledgling that catches your eye will surely come along! And if you decide this is too stressful for you, don't worry! There are plenty of other ways to get your dreamie dracovix!
Pick a fledgling that is unclaimed and available to be claimed. Fledglings are tagged with their catchrate difficulty.
Catch rates from easiest to hardest:
Quick => Clever => Trickster => Escape Artist
Fill out the quarry form, and comment it in the fledgling's hunting game thread to enter the mini-raffle to claim that fledgling as your quarry.
If you got the quarry from the raffle or were just the lucky sole hunter, congrats! But now you have to capture your quarry, and you have 1 week to do so. Your hunt begins now! All you have to do is draw or write about the fledgling you're hunting. The artwork must at minimum be a flat-color headshot or 300 words in literature describing the fledgling's daring escape from its hunters. The story or quality of your entry does not affect your chances, as long as it's on topic.
If you end up deciding you don't want the fledgling you're hunting, you may relinquish your quarry at any time by replying to your claim post and stating your intent to relinquish your quarry. Afterwards, you must wait 6 hours to hunt a different fledgling.
Submit your capture artwork to deviantArt and to the group, then fill out the capture form and post it in your quarry's hunting game thread.
Afterwards, you wait until an admin rolls your capture attempt to decide whether you win the fledgling or not -- try to relax, it's just a game! Your chances of successfully making the capture depend on the fledgling's catch rate, the items you use, and some good RNG.

Fledglings are all named "Fledgling" as their placeholder name - they have no official name as of yet. If you get a fledgling, you can go name them right away at import updates. This is also a great time to fill out your fledgling's personal info, such as gender identity, pronouns, height, and biography while you're at it!
Fledgling capture art cannot be turned in as gift art for embers if your attempt fails and another player successfully captures the fledgling because the capture artwork was not created when the fledgling was owned by another player.
However, the owner of the fledgling may count all capture entries for Np for that fledgling's Np tracker, so if it isn't a bother, please don't delete your capture artworks from your dA account! :)
After capture, fledglings may not be sold or traded to other players for 1 real life year to the date.
Fledglings may only be dropped off at the Sanctuary.
