At 4th bard level, you gain 3 good lines every long rest. You gain an extra good lines if any of the following occur:
You witness an ally succeeding in a check thanks to your bardic inspiration.
You end combat without retreating, surrendering, or falling unconscious.
You spend a rest die.
You critically strike an enemy.
An enemy critically fails an attack against you.
You critically succeed on a saving throw against a spell.
An enemy critically fails on a saving throw against your spell.
You can spend 1d4 good lines to use bardic inspiration. If the roll exceeds your number of good lines, lose your action next turn.
Once during a rest, you can spend 1d4 good lines to restore 1 rest dice to an ally.
You cannot exceed more good lines than your total charisma + half your bard level (rounded down.)
After every long rest, your number of good lines is reset to 3.
At 4th bard level, you may spend 1 good line as a free action on your turn, or as a reaction to do any of the following:
Grant an ally within 30 feet a bonus action that they can immediately perform.
Grant yourself or an ally a 1d4 bonus to a social skill check (Subject to GM.) of your choice.
You cannot use this ability more than once per turn.
At 5th bard level, choose 2 upgrades:
Arcane display - Gain an extra bardic inspiration upgrade. Learn an arcane cantrip of your choice. Use charisma as the casting attribute.
Song of blades - Gain proficiency with 2 martial weapon groups of your choice. You also gain a good line whenever you disarm, pin, or otherwise disable or restrain a creature with a weapon (Subject to GM.)
Grim words - You gain a 1d2 good lines whenever you reduce a small or larger creature to 0 hp. Name the moment can also grant an enemy a -1 penalty to a dexterity or intelligence check.
Wit - You gain 1 good line every rest, your good line reset count is now 4, and name the moment can be used to grant an attack of opportunity disadvantage.
Words of power - You can spend 1d4+1 good lines to regain 1 spell slot as an action. If the number exceeds your number of good lines, then you simply waste the action.
Living in the moment - You gain a good line whenever an ally within 30 feet spends a rest dice.
At 6th bard level, when you grant an ally an inspiration die, you can also spend 3 good lines to restore 1 rest dice to them. This cannot bring them above their rest dice maximum. You cannot restore another rest dice to an ally until they use up the inspiration die.
