At 5th monk level, you can alter your entire attack pattern when using flurry before making any attacks, changing it into one great power attack.Â
A power attack combines the flurry and base attacks together into one great strike. You cannot make both a power attack and a flurry attack on the same turn. If you would gain other attacks, instead treat them as attacks combined into the power attack.
A power attack is still treated as a flurry attack for the purposes of other abilities and effects.
The power attack has a +2 bonus to hit and block DC, and has all damage dice increased by 1 size category(or 1d4 extra on reaching 12) per extra attack combined into the attack.
At 5th monk level, your flurry and power attacks have their critical strike range extended by 1.
