I’m not one of those people who can write a novel in a day. I write every day, for most of the day, whether on my computer, on my phone, or in my journal.
I was inspired to write this very long story first by reading a great essay by Laura Carstensen on creating a narrative arc, which is a way of structuring a story so that it builds up to a climax, from which the story ends.

But no matter what, you’re going to have to write something, and you’re going to have to write it well—whether you’re doing it for yourself or for someone else.
maybe you have a history essay to write, or an essay about the Civil War that you have to hand in tomorrow, or maybe you are simply writing a research paper for school. Whatever the case, the task you have at hand will require plenty of writing, research, and organization.
