I have been a school counsellor since 2005 and have been at Dapto High School since 2012. Before becoming a school counselllor I was a primary school teacher in the Campbelltown area for 9 years. It was always my ambition to become a school counsellor since high school. I am a Berkeley High School graduate and I studied at University of Wollongong and re-trained as a school counsellor at Western Sydney University.

I have been fortunate to work as a school counsellor at Dapto High School since 2017. After school I studied a Bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology, and Post Graduate studies in Psychology and Education, at the University of Wollongong. Prior to school counselling, I worked as a primary school teacher, youth worker and caseworker.
The main therapeutic framework I am drawn to is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); which involves helping you understand what is important and meaningful to you, and use that to guide, inspire and motivate changes in your life. It also involves teaching skills to help you deal with difficult thoughts and feelings more effectively, so they have less impact and influence over you.
On a personal note, I enjoy yoga and trail running – my favourite ways to self-care. I also enjoy curling up with a good book, watching series on Netflix / Stan, going to live music (when I get the opportunity!) and spending time with family.
