After prayers at 6:00 the next morning Bapu and his band of 80 merry marchers, a few showing signs of weariness, left Nadiad for Boriavi. People gathered around him just to just look at him and feel blessed and seek his blessings. Cars were running from Ahmedabad to Boriavi continuously for the whole day. At 3:00 PM the Bapu addressed the gathering of people in Boriavi. In the morning He was welcomed by the villagers with a special song in praise of Bapu ‘Come back victorious Bapu. Come bearing freedom for the nation Bapu, Come back to us soon Bapu!’. Bapu talked about the misfortune of a slave nation. In a long speech once again Bapu pleaded with villagers to adopt khadi, give up alcohol and emulate Sardar Patel brave sacrifice by going to prison for his belief. Bapu left Boriavi for Anand at 6:00 PM. The villagers accompanied him and many joined the march for the day. When they entered Anand the entire population of Anand had come to greet the Mahatma and welcome him to their town. Bapu and the marchers reached the venue of the halt at Anand by 8:15 PM, the campus of Charotar Education Society. A public meeting was organized on its grounds. Addressing the gathering of over 10,000, Bapu praised the generosity of the merchants of Anand and said “I expect many more sacrifices from them and people of Anand who have a lion's heart”. He once again stressed the importance of Swadeshi he lamented the blot of untouchability on Hinduism and asked the people to atone for the sin.
The next day a Monday was the rest day of the march. Bapu would maintain silence for the day and the 80 marchers with him rested and did cleanliness drives. They went and interacted with the town people and finished all their chores required to be done before they started marching the next day.
