Lane Closure Planning Tool

Objective

Working with Willy, Dan, Mark and Tim on providing ITS sensor data for the Lane Closure Planning Tool.

API to access LCPT Data and Station information:

Current Work Activities

Currently working on automating the process to update LCPT data (ITS device)

• API feeds have been developed but working on improving as needed

Updating console to classify sensors as impacted by work zone or not

• The console application is currently in use but will be refined as needed

Relating sensors for opposite directions

• The updated sensor names by TransCore has been completed and are being integrated into the LCPT data.

Adding RWIS data to the process

• Data needs to be saved on the cluster then parsed so it is in a similar format as the data from the ITS sensors. The data from RWIS are currently provided every 5 minutes. Working on a one-page summary of the quality and reliability of the feed. Will use this REST service feed because of the easy accessibility but may adjust in the future based on quality findings.

Determining capacity of towing operations (specifically for semi's)

• 1087 towing operations have been pull for 2016 and have also identified the operations involving semi's. Have also pulled all related sensor data (including one week before/after) to determine the capacity reduction due to towing.
• This data has been sent to Jing/Zhara to determine the capacity for these operations for use in the LCPT

Confirmed with TransCore that ATR data is being received.

• Working on validating that all data is collected with Planning
• Vehicle classification is not being received
