Bridge Flooding
Working with David Claman and Bill Kaufman in the Office of Bridge.
Step 1) Identify vulnerable roadways/bridges. We have been updating the RIDB River Infrastructure by identifying the location which are potential flooding locations. This process involves pulling in FEMA flood maps, contours or other sources of data and identifying the roadways which are below the 100 year flood level. We are wrapping up the process to identify the vulnerable roadways by editing and adding the RIDB Structure, RIDB Low Road and the RIDB Site. We have completed identifying these locations for a majority of the state and are just cleaning up some locations which were not in the original RIDB Stream
Step 2) Reporting tool for impacts and predictions. Since David and Bill do not have an automated system yet for identifying impacted locations and predictions, we have started to develop an AGOL tool that David can use to input all of the information he reports to OTO and others that would populate the map with the vulnerable locations. This would is using Survey123 that David can use to easily submit information instead of reporting this information in a conference call.
