Support agency decision making through developing optimization strategies, performance measure metrics, and benefit-cost analysis of the Iowa DOT Highway Helper Program.
The Iowa DOT Highway Helper program provides responsive assistance to motorists on the freeway and interstate systems in the Des Moines, Council Bluffs, and Cedar Rapids/Iowa City metros. The focus of the Highway Helper program is on getting people out of harm's way and maintaining traffic flow.
This program delivers action in terms of stranded traveler or crash victim assistance, emergency traffic control and scene management, debris removal, or quickly clearing stranded vehicles and people out of harm’s way.
