Renewing your Certification
The Conditional CTE certificate must be requested from the school district with which you are employed. Conditional certifications are valid for two school years or less. Additionally, you must complete a minimum of 50 continuing education credit hours after the first certificate is granted and prior to the reissuance. This can be accomplished by completing a PGP each year. Once the request has been initiated, you will need to go into the EDS System and complete the tasks.
The Continuing CTE certificate is the 2nd level of certification educators can earn once they have obtained their initial certificate and completed the following requirements:
Must have completed the necessary requirements for the initial CTE certificate.
Must have completed 15 quarter hours or 150 clock hours of CTE educator training within the CTE field.
15 of the clock hours must be in STEM.
Must provide documentation of two years of teaching in the CTE subject area certified to teach with a school district or skills center.
Must attest to completion of the Issues of Abuse course.
