A complement is the noun that completes the meaning of the verb. In English grammar, the complements of action verbs are:
Direct Object (always in the accusative case), and
Indirect Object (in Greek, in the dative case),
The complements of linking verbs are:
Predicate Nominative (always in the nominative case), and
Predicate Adjective; cf. predicate position
In Hebrew, the object is often marked out by the object marker word, or it is a pronominal suffix on the verb.
