Biography

Tania Malzoni, Uruguay

Born in Montevideo, Uruguay. She studied Social Communication and Theater

Design in different public schools. She’s currently pursuing a Bachelor of Plastic and Visual Arts at the Faculty of Arts.

Always a drawer, she first tried digital illustration in 2018 and has worked mainly with this tool since then. In 2020 she created her own metaphoric world based in her own life through the story of "Marina Magnésicos". Meanwhile, she illustrated two children’s stories and two book covers.

She participated in various group exhibitions with her creations: in the celebration for the 150 years of the “Feria de Tristán Narvaja” (2020), in the De London Gallery with “La Sala de los Menesteres” (2021) and with “Tramas de Resistencia” at the Faculty of Arts and at the "Hiperespacio" contemporary art room (2022).

To date, she has had two solo exhibitions: the first in "Casa INJU" Exhibition Hall (2020) and the last in "Modo Casona" open house (2023).

Artist Statement

The images are based on the world of Marina Magnésicos, the fantasy character that

the artist created inspired by herself. This world shows figurative but delirious spaces, full of symbols and characters that change according to their meaning.

The shapes repeat creating a network of cyclical situations. The type of drawing refers to a plastic and solemn appearance.

There is a constant use of brushes and soft shapes, largely inspired by the lack

of image clarity of dreams and mental projections.
