In order to diversify the key competences of the students from the mathematics-informatics specialization as well as to increase the quality of the portfolios made by the graduates of the mentioned classes, in order to obtain the attestation in the field of informatics, at the end of high school studies, the unit identifies the need for training in the field of web design, among these students. The diversification of the students' digital skills is seen through the lens of a practical internship that a group of students can carry out outside the school space, in the private environment of businesses, in the field of web design, where they, through a 3-week practical internship , can get in touch with new technologies and different approaches regarding work in this field. Already having collaborations with companies from the Norte region, Portugal, the sending organisation intends to diversify the palette of collaborations in this region, proposing a VET mobility project for students in the city of Barcelos, Portugal.
The development of specific web design skills through the use of programming languages and libraries, among 16 sophomore or senior students from the computer science classes. Increasing the number and quality of web page projects, developed by candidates to the final attestation examination in informatics, by using superior digital technologies, beyond the classic HTML web design language.
The project involved a complex of activities aimed at involving some students in practical learning activities in the field of computer science. The activities organized within the project involved the selection of mobility participants, their preparation in four directions: general training, specialized, linguistic and cultural, which represented the prerequisites for the basic activity, that of developing the key digital skills of the participants by involving them in an threeweeks internship, in companies from the city of Barcelos, Portugal, where the participants developed their key digital skills in web page design. After the training activity, several actions were organized in the sending organisation to multiply the learning experience, among colleagues from the mathematics-informatics specialization, to prepare the portfolio for the attestation examination in the field of informatics and to disseminate the results of the project to different categories of target group, in accordance with the dissemination strategy of the project.
The participating students were placed in different companies, dealing with the concept of web design. For three weeks, every business day they were part of the company activity, giving their best to fulfill the given tasks. It was wonderful to see the students dealing with real customers, to exchange opinions on the format of the site, to show creativity but also working rigour, to stumble on different obstacles which were overpassed by interacting with their mentors, by asking opinion from their fellows. Every Friday afternoon, the students presented in their group the tasks they have, the solutions they adopt and the outcomes of the work during one week. Over three weeks, several webpages were constructed, responding to real needs and satisfying customers.
16 sofomore students from the computer science study line, participating to a 3 week internship in different web design companies from Barcelos and Braga, PORTUGAL.
Being a mobility project, the most relevant results are the intangible ones, in terms of digital skills in the field of web design, among the 16 beneficiaries. These developed competencies, in terms of knowledge, skills and attitudes, are marked in the Europass Mobility certificates, which the sending organisation issued at the end of the internship, after the receiving organization has validated all the competencies developed during the internship. Also, in the category of intangible results, we mention 16 digital portfolios of the web page projects, assigned by the mentors with whom the mobility beneficiaries worked for 3 weeks at the receiving organization. The web page portfolios, made by the beneficiaries included between 7 and 20 .html pages, between 10 and 17 .css files, between 13 and 150 image files which had to be edited as well as, in certain situations, javascript files and .ttf font files. Three of the web pages created are landing pages. The created web projects are part of the documentation prepared by the mobility beneficiaries for the attestation exam in the field of informatics.
The cultural visits, the group made in their free time and during the weekends, allowed the students to enrich their knowledge and learn about Portugal and Norte region. The wonderful city of Porto, the unique Vila Nova de Gaia, the marvelous boat trip on the Douro, the festival rich city of Braga, the history rich Guiamaraes, the picturesque Ponte de Lima, the small Arcos de Valdevez, the religious Viana do Castelo, the nature parcs, even the more distant Aveiro and many other gems on the northern map of Portugal were opportunities to learn about Portuguese civilization and about Portuguese people.
At the application stage the students had to create, with a specific design software, a logo proposal for the project. The aim was to assess their vision in graphics design, their operating skills with different image design softwares, to check their imagination and to promote a fair and transparent competition.
