A more serious behavior that is more likely in need of assistance from administration, such as a call to the vice principal/principal.
Examples include but are not limited to:
bullying
harassment
weapons
illegal substances
destruction of property
abusive language.
Document: Once the situation has calmed down, the teacher needs to document exactly what happened while it is still fresh in the memory. This is also important for the student's sake as they may also need it. Additionally, if further actions are taken, the document will need to be examined.
Remain Calm: When put under a stressful situation, it is essential to try and stay calm. If the teacher starts showing signs of anxiousness or sadness, that can relay on the student or make the situation worse unintentionally.
Call Administration: If needed it is always ok to call for administration for another set of helping hands. It's always better to be safe, especially in a classroom with other students.
