1. Call and Response

   1. most commonly used by teachers, it is a great way to grab the student's attention as they will have to interact. This makes students stop what they are doing and put all their attention toward to teacher to respond. Not to mention, teachers can get very creative with their call-and-response sayings for the classroom. The teacher can make them dependent on the weather, season, or holidays. 

2. Turning off the Lights

   1. This strategy should be used for direct response and fast. Students will notice the light change and turn off their voices due to the unknown of what is going on, and why the lights were turned off. 

3. Countdown

   1. A teacher can start by saying 10, and counting down, with all the students gradually joining in. This incorporates the whole class to stop what they are doing and pay attention to the teacher.  

4. Give Me 5

   1. The teacher will raise their hand in the air will all fingers spread apart. Students will start to see that their teacher is doing this and join in. This is also a good way for students to socialize with one another, to show them what is going on.
