How do the images fit within my minicourse?
The logo image on the top of the course announcement represents my effort to empower early childhood educators. The wheel symbolizes the continual effort to simplify processes for educators, to equip them, and as a result to hopefully empower them to do their job effectively. The image of the three circular faces within the wheel indicate that the focus is on the instruction of young children.
The bottom decorative image of a teacher instructing a group of four young children further illustrate the minicourse's target audience--early childhood teachers. It also illustrates the educational context the minicourse wishes to address, which is small-group instruction.
What were the thought processes involved in creating this digital image?
For the logo, I wanted to create an image that would capture my particular "brand" as a trainer/coach to early childhood educators. I also wanted something simple enough to visually process.
For the course announcement, accessibility was important, so I wanted to make sure to use high contrast in my visuals as well as large enough print that would help readers access the image. I used Canva to create the announcement. It has a feature on their File menu called "Design Accessibility" that helps check for accessibility in color contrast and text sizing.
Changes to original images
Graphics for the logo on top of the announcement were both sourced and edited on Canva for Educators. I edited and combined the following two graphics from Canva to create the logo:

The link to the completed logo can be found below. I downloaded the file from Canva as an SVG and removed the background to allow for transparency.
