Dual enrollment course designed to introduce high school students to mammalian cell culture and stem cell biology, and accompanying lab techniques. Topics include aseptic technique, counting cells, cell culture maintenance, transfection, cytotoxicity, fluorescence labeling, and stem cell differentiation. Practical experience includes use of common laboratory equipment such as micropipettes, centrifuges, phase and fluorescent microscopes.
