Prior to joining CCSF, Gaby earned her master’s degree in infectomics and molecular pathogenesis from the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico. After moving to San Francisco, she joined the Biotechnology work experience program. She interned at the Andino Lab in UCSF where she optimized a replicon system to study SARS-CoV-2 and strengthened her wet lab skills. In the future, she intends to continue her career in scientific research with a focus on understanding human diseases.
