Shaila has a BS in Chemistry and has work experience with special needs children and customer service. She interned in the Huang Lab at UCSF, where her mentor Jiapei Chen, a graduate student, taught her valuable skills including tissue sectioning, IHC, and Microscopy. Shaila has also developed hands on skills in mammalian cell culture and PCR. Following her internship, Shaila will be looking for a lab position in which she can utilize and grow her bench skills.
