I joined the CCSF Bioscience Work Experience program after completing a Bachelor’s in Biology B.S. at UCSB. During the Bioscience program I learned ELISA, PCR, mammalian cell culture to expand my practical lab skills. Through CCSF I also participated in valuable networking opportunities with professionals in the Biotech field and improved my interviewing, and work navigation skills.
I am currently interning at Hebrok lab at UCSF where I am creating strong networks, and learning useful technical skills like cloning, genome extraction, plasmid purification among other molecular biology skills that are needed to succeed in the Biotech field. I plan on continuing at the Hebrok lab as a stem cell intern, and then eventually shifting to work as a scientist in translational medicine in the Biotech Industry.
