My name is Annie Chu, and I am currently a research intern working with Dr. Yanxin Liu at UCSF’s Agard Lab. I have a B.A. in linguistics but have always wanted to do scientific research. I’ve volunteered at the Aquarium of the Bay and interned at the Exploratorium to explore different areas of science that I would be interested in, and I am currently studying protein structures. I have learned how to model proteins using various computational methods and software. This summer, I will be further developing my wet lab skills and experience with cryo-electron microscopy. Driven by curiosity that motivates me to research a wide variety of scientific questions, I hope to get a higher degree and eventually work on finding answers to them.
