Information Systems (IS)- An information system is a group of software, data, hardware, processes, and people. It stores, collects, processes, and distributes information so organizations can function.
Learning Management Systems (LMS)- A software application used for educational purposes that delivers digital learning materials (documents, videos, courses), monitors student progress and participation, contains quizzes, assignments, and evaluations, and offers discussion, video meetings, and ways to make online learning interactive.
User Interface (UI)- Where the digital product and the user interact through buttons, menus, icons, and visual layout. Where users engage with the application to find information or complete tasks.
Waffle- An icon on an application, such as Microsoft Office 365, that provides quick access to a menu of the different associated apps or services.
Hamburger- A button that toggles a menu or navigation bar. It is also known as the collapsed menu icon.
Cc- Stands for “carbon copy.” It’s a feature to send a copy of an email to additional people for informational purposes. The recipients can see each other’s emails.
Bcc- Stands for “blind carbon copy.” It’s a feature to send copies of emails to additional recipients without revealing their email addresses to the original people on the email.
Attachment- A digital file (documents, images, videos) sent via email, making it accessible to the recipient to download.
Signature File- A block of text that is automatically added to the bottom of an email, acting like a digital business card that provides the recipient with the sender’s name, title, company, phone number, and/or website.
