Las operaciones de rescate continúan este martes 12 de septiembre en Marruecos, más de 72 horas después del devastador terremoto que dejó más de 2,900 muertos, pero las esperanzas de encontrar más sobrevivientes se agotan con el paso de las horas.

El rey Mohamed VI de Marruecos visitó este martes a los heridos del sismo en un hospital de la ciudad de Marrakech donde “preguntó por el estado de salud de los heridos” y donó sangre, según la agencia oficial de noticias MAP.

Por su parte la Cruz Roja lanzó el martes un llamamiento para obtener fondos de alrededor de 100 millones de euros para apoyar las operaciones de socorro.

El sismo causó 2,901 muertos y 5,530 heridos, según el último balance oficial del martes.

Voluntarios y rescatistas marroquíes, con ayuda de equipos extranjeros, están tratando de acelerar la búsqueda para encontrar posibles sobrevivientes y dar refugio a cientos de familias que han perdido sus hogares.

Rescue teams in Libya are struggling to retrieve the bodies of victims that have been swept out to sea in tsunami-like flood waters.

At least 2,300 have been killed, according to the ambulance authority in Derna, the worst affected city.
