Words and how they look on paper.
Draw ‘em out and plan ‘em out,
then build ‘em nice and tall.
Each word type has a function
so the structures do not fall.
Beauty is in the eye of the reader,
but each structure has its art,
and each detail springs directly from
the builder’s steady heart.
So…
Draw ‘em out and plan ‘em out,
then build ‘em nice and tall.
Make sure they’re strong, for each
will soon fulfill its call.
Each swirling line
Gives manifestation
To swirling thought.
Each broad and thin
Swipe and stroke
Tugs the arms of the eye
Begging for attention
So as to tug the mind
Tied to that window
Of the human body.
As the tip of my pencil touches my paper,
The tips of the pencilled ghosts meet it.
The words of the story are braided
While the pencilled wisps mirror
The threads of thought in my mind —
Slowly fading, sometimes hitting
The paper in a constant pitter-patter.
