Are like those he loved in young ambition
And saves them standard Nazi killing.
Sudden bombing disorients and traps
Both boy and girl – but they each still survive.
Upon escape from a building collapse
He helps her reach safety and feels alive.
But his heart succumbs to delirium,
And her soul plays a desolate cadence.
However, the girl- Marie-Laure –lives on
And feels the renewal in this life's dance.
