NORTHERN UTAH DIVISION
The Northern Utah Division, NMRA, (formerly the Wasatch Division) has been holding the annual train show at the Utah State Fairpark since 1992. In 2015 we ran out of room.
We are moving to the South Towne Expo center for the 2016 version -- November 5 and 6 -- going from 30,000 square feet, two buildings and two floors to one large open area with 48,600 square feet of totally usable space with 30 foot ceilings.
Other than the location change, what is new and different? First, an emphasis on hands-on activities for the public -- Boxcar Races, Locomotive Races, a unique Locomotive Activity, switching puzzles, and several build-it activities. Second, we will have many vendors new to the show. Third, with so much more floor space there is no limit on layout size this year -- the largest will be 60'x60'.
The Northern Utah Division invites all model railroaders and anyone interested in model railroading bring their children or grandchildren to Northern Utah Division's INTERMOUNTAIN TRAIN EXPO, November 5 & 6 at the South Towne Expo, Sandy, Utah (the same building that will host the National Train Show in 2019). We are doing our best to make this the biggest and best locally-produced Utah train show.
