I applied for a clerk position with the TDCJ. I received a letter saying I was not eligible for the position because I have a warrant for my arrest. This was a total shock to me as I have never received anything to inform me that I had a warrant. The supervisor with TDCJ said I can still have the job if I can get this cleared up. I am also attending a criminal justice bachelors program in the Fall as I have always wanted to be in criminal justice. I did a search online and I see that it is a class b misdemeanor theft by check $20-$500. It says the case was filed in 2010. I did not turn myself in, but I immediately called the DA to find out what to do and have a court date soon. What can I do to make sure this doesn't ruin my future? Can it be dismissed? I have no criminal history.
