Business English at Your Fingertips allows teachers to choose the modules that best suit their needs while blending the activities with their own material.
This comprehensive suite of resources uses a metacognitive approach that combines comprehensive, theme-based modules with two complementary learning environments:
Moodle – The Moodle training takes the place of a textbook, providing online interactive activities for structured Business English grammar, vocabulary and skills training. Each theme-based module is independent and self-contained, giving instructors the flexibility to build there own program.
The 3-Step Moodle Process
ACTIVATE
Students test their prior knowledge, activating what they already know before engaging in new learning activities.
TRAIN
Provides interactive, theme-based exercises designed to strengthen Business English communication skills in practical business contexts.
EXPERIENCE
Students are introduced to the virtual reality component.
The Briefing and Debriefing Guide found on Moodle outlines the business scenario, learning objectives, and communication challenge for each of the three levels.
A peer evaluation sheet helps students give and receive constructive feedback.
The self-evaluation section encourages learners to reflect on their VR performance, identify strengths, and set new communication goals for future sessions.
***YOUR COLLEGE MUST HAVE AN UPTALE LICENSE IN ORDER TO ACCESS THE VR EXPERIENCES. CONSULT YOUR REPTIC.
Virtual Reality (VR) – for immersive, real-world practice
Each module is independent and self-contained, giving instructors the flexibility to select themes that best suit their teaching objectives and the needs of their students.
The Virtual Reality Experience
The VR component, using the platform Uptale, consolidates and extends learning from Moodle by:
Reinforcing skills developed in the TRAIN stage.
Presenting scaffolded communication challenges across three progressively complex levels.
Fully engaging students in authentic business communication contexts that mirror real-world situations.
