Module E pilot

SUMMER 2020 WAS THE THIRD TIME, STUDENTS TOOK THE E-PILOT EXAM. MORE THAN 10,OOO STUDENTS IN OVER 100 SCHOOLS, PARTICIPATED IN THE PILOT THIS YEAR AND STUDIED VOCABULARY TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE NEW FORMAT.

The students who participated in the E pilot test (at both the 4 and 5 point levels) were assessed by a new format of the E module which included a vocabulary task instead of the listening comprehension.

This new vocabulary Bagrut test is based on knowledge of vocabulary targets according to the English curriculum that is aligned with CEFR standards. The test is based on these words lists that must be studied: band 1 , band 2 and 400 words from band 3.

It is recommended to target vocabulary instruction based on the Bands beginning with your 10th and 11th grade classes this year. These are the 400 words for the E pilot exam in winter 2021 and summer 2021.

Feedback from both teachers and students is very positive. Bagrut grades indicated an increase of up to 10% in the grades in comparison to the regular module E grade. This increase was evident especially among 4 point students.

Many teachers and students who have participated in the pilot report satisfaction with the learning process of direct vocabulary acquisition, which leads to more independence in the use of the language. Based on these data we are continuing with the pilot next year.

In order to prepare the students for the pilot exam, numerous practice activities and sample tests are available here.
